Founded in Munich in 2025, Loxo Labs GmbH develops modular infrastructure systems that enable scalable autonomous drone operations. Our solutions cover the secure transport, storage, power supply and autonomous deployment of unmanned aerial systems.
You own the firmware that decides when a drone launches — real-time, safety-relevant, and running unattended in the field for weeks.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Own the embedded software architecture of the system across the control, power and thermal subsystems
Lead RTOS-based real-time control development, including timing analysis and fail-safe behaviour for launch and recovery sequences
Own the low-level integration layer: CAN, UART, SPI, I²C, sensor drivers, and motor and actuator control
Design and own the firmware side of the command and control interface, including secure command handling and telemetry
Establish the secure firmware lifecycle: secure boot, signed images, field update strategy and rollback
Build out embedded test infrastructure — unit test, hardware-in-the-loop, automated regression and CI for firmware
Run FMEA on software-controlled functions and drive firmware work packages
Set coding, review and release standards
YOUR PROFILE
10+ years in embedded software for real-time, safety-relevant or mission-critical systems — defence, aerospace, automotive, robotics or industrial control
Expert C and C++ on resource-constrained targets, with deep RTOS experience (FreeRTOS, Zephyr, ThreadX or equivalent)
Strong hardware affinity: you read schematics, use a scope and logic analyser, and debug at register level
Production experience across CAN, UART, SPI and I²C, and with STM32, ESP32 or comparable MCU families
Track record building test and CI infrastructure for embedded work, not only features
German and English
WHAT WE OFFER
You build sovereign European defence technology
End-to-end ownership of a subsystem, from architecture through qualification to customer delivery
A ten-person company, which means your decisions reach hardware in weeks rather than quarters
An interdisciplinary team drawn from automotive and motorsport, aerospace, defence and industrial manufacturing
Direct influence on our engineering standards and processes as we scale
SECURITY AND EQUAL OPPORTUNITY
Because we work with customers in defence and critical infrastructure, a security clearance under the German Security Clearance Act (SÜG) may be required for this position.
We value diversity and welcome all applications — regardless of gender, nationality, ethnic and social origin, religion or belief, disability, age, and sexual orientation and identity.
